One thing we did was to embed the STRPASTHR command in a program. And, we used the VRTDEV parameter. Took a little setup, but the user always gets the right device. mcrump@ballfoster.com on 06/12/2000 08:31:38 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: Re: Named 5250 telnet sessions Mathias, It sounds to me like the STRPASTHR command you are using is hitting a specific virtual controller. I don't know all of the specifics but I believe if you reference no virtual controller the system should use QPACTL01 or something similar. I would look at how your target system is configured for virtual controllers and how your passthru is programmed on your source system. This by itself works fine. Trouble starts when someone passes through (strpasthr) from another system. Instead of using a qpadevxxx *DEVD it randomly uses one of the 'named' ones which then stops the owner of that devd from connecting to the 400. Is there any way I can force strpasthr to the qpadev... devices?
