Hi
     yes you can quite easily (without having to change all your pgms).

Either 1 create a journal + receiver and then journal the file
    or 2 create a trigger program and then add the trigger to the file.

Note that 1 will log changes to all fields on the file whereas 2 can be
tailored to a specific field.
