FTP Speed -- MIDRANGE-L

Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but it does involve an AS/400, just not in
the FTP part.  ;)

We're pulling files from a customer's machine (XML, images, etc..).  We have
3 t1s, they have 1.  Speed is around 40kbytes/sec.  Does that seem right?  I
thought it was slow, and these guys at this other place say our NT machine
that we're using needs to have it's window size increased.  Anyone have
experience with this?  It is a registry entry TcpWindowSize or something.  I
did change it, no difference. 

Our box pulling is a Netfinity 600mhz running NT.  They're machine is a unix
box.
