Where do they get some of these speakers at computer conferences?  
I remember one at a joint users group meeting in our area espousing 
the evils of data processing and our only role was to displace 
American workers and exploit foreign workers.  He looked about as 
looney as Sam Kinnison in 'Back to School'.

years ago, a woman's right activist spoke to dpma.  one of her themes
was equal pay.  an example she had was a secretary should make the same
salary as her boss, because the secretary works just as hard.  

i was embarassed, as a young female of the profession.  i had just
graduated, and had worked hard for my mis degree.  even i had a hard
time swallowing that logic.

one of the members, sitting across from me was very angry.  he made a
comment i haven't forgotten, even though this was 20+ years ago.  he
commented that it is wrong to expect rewards without taking
responsibility.
