RE: International Who's Who of information Technology

Years and years ago I was invited to be listed in a Who's Who.  The book 
wasn't very expensive but after it arrived I did a quick names/page times 
number-of-pages and quickly realized that if everyone mentioned in the 
book bought one copy the book would be a financial bonanza for the 
publisher.

I still have the book and every once in a while I get it out and relive 
past jousts and slayings.

Ken,
                 I received an invitation also to be in the Who's Who's 
book. It is
still sitting on my desk. $400 is a lot of money for a book. Who do you
think would buy this book? Only the people who are in it!
                 I wonder how they got our names. I called them and they 
indicated it
was probably from someone submitting my name. I'm going to take a wild 
guess
here and say that, I had ordered some Redbooks and they had picked up my
name from that somehow.

I've been contacted by a representative from the "International Who's Who 
of
Information Technology" for inclusion in their 2000 directory.

It was an interesting interview, however, it ended with a relatively high
pressure pitch to sell me a copy of the book for $400....

When I asked to think it over for a day the sales pressure was increased. 
I
finally told them I wasn't interested.

Needless to say, I am a bit skeptical.

I'm wondering if any of you have heard anything about this
publication/organization?
