My suggestion is to just run the CL in debug mode, and set breakpoints
on the line(s) desired.  No need to even change the program.

But if you would rather change the program, you could use SNDPGMMSG
... MSGTYPE(*INQ) to display an inquiry message.  Respond to the
message when you want to resume operations.

There are many other ways of skinning this cat.  But debug is the
simplest, in my book.
