We use ICF to mirror data that can be updated/added/deleted on multiple as400s.
Thank God we never have records being updated on all machines at the same
instance. Mostly Adds with a few updates/deletes in which hours or days go by
from record added to modified. Believe it or not the data stays very much
insync. Never had to do this with NT but you can do ICF communications with
other UNIX boxes using X.25 communications, we have but only from the 400
side, the vender did the UNIX side. I am sure that it can be done on a NT box.
Good luck finding the PC side. If you need help on the 400 side, drop me an
e-mail.

Subject: AS400 accessing Sybase

We are currently investigating ways to replicate data in real time between
DB2/400 database and a Sybase Database on an NT Server.(maybe replication
or some kind of triggers). We have found in our research the products
"Replication Server" as a means of replicating to and from heterogeneous
hardware and data sources, and another product called "DirectCONNECT" to
access the AS400 Database. My questions are: 1. Are there any products or
ways to access the Sybase Database from the AS400, is the use of ICF files
a possibility? and 2. Is anyone using any of these or other methods to
achieve this, and would care to comment?

Thanks & Regards,
Peter Marr.
