RE: TTI, Inc - Anaheim, CA - Out of Business??

We too have a mammoth tape drive from them; I too called, even the sales
department asking for some product information, and to call me at home, no
phone call back.

I found out that they are closed by receiving a call from another company
that supposedly is taking over their contracts;
they want another $4,500 or so just to take out my emulation card, insert
microcode so the tape drive is direct connect
to the AS/400, then have the balls to charge maintenance fees of twice what
TTI was charging, beginning "now", no warranty period.

I am looking into alternatives at this time.

Just a quick note to say  that TTI - Transitional Technology, Inc of 5401 E.
La
Palma Ave., Anaheim, CA appears to be no longer in business. I've phoned,
E-mailed and faxed them repeatly over the past month - with no call backs.
If you
bought as tape drive from them - it would appear that their 2 or 3 year
warranty
is not likely to fulfilled.

TTI offered 4mm, 8mm, AIT, DLT and DTF tape subsytems fro sale. We're using
one
that emulates an IBM 3590 tape on their DLT drive.

If anyone has any more info about the status of TTI, I'd like to hear it.
