My first advice, is keep you ass out of the QSPL library.  It's not polite 
to fool with Mother Nature.  The AS/400 counts on the pointers from job 
structures to point to valid members in QSPL, as does WRKSPLF and 
WRKOUTQ.  Screw around with the QSPL library, and you will execute the 
MAKEAMESS command.

My next question is how do you have the system value QRCLSPLSTG set, and/or 
do you ever enter the command RCLSPLSTG *NONE.

Lastly, the ENDJOB command will kill spooled files too, but you need 
QRCLSPLSTG or RCLSPLSTG to kick in to remove the members.
