I just re-read the statement....it says Inter Process communications.  Eg:
Between 2 jobs on the same AS/400.  In this case, data queue's are probably
a lot faster.

But, between 2 machines (eg: A non-AS400 and an AS/400, probably even 2
AS/400's) I still question the statement.

I missed this statement.  And would love to see some data on it.

Are you measuring the entire transport time?  Eg: From the time the Client
side sends the request to the AS/400, DQ pgm processes, sends to other DQ,
and PC gets results back.  And how big the results? And how much data.

I'd be very surprised of the entire data queue process was faster than a
persistent Socket connection. And do not forget the pain of Client Access.

Just curious, do you have any benchmarks or other evidence to back this up?
I had always thought that sockets would be faster but had never delved into
it to determine whether that was true or not.  I would be really interested
in any references comparing the two.
