I am trying to go through my Ethernet card.  At my job, for example, we use
0004AC47A4ED.  But I only know that because it is in our notes to set up
Client Access.  It also happens to be on the text of our ETHLINE *LIND
object.  But I could not find the command that would tell me what this
number is on my machine at home.  

Are you saying that I could substitute APPN.MYAS400NAME in place of the
number above?

Joe is this an SNA connection?
It should be netid.systemname

ie:  APPN.ECSATL

Try doing a DSPNETA to check these values.
