What do you mean by the phrase "As this is going outside our firewall, we need
this to be secure"? Are you worried about the data itself or are you worried
that by
opening the firewall to FTP out, you'll be opening the firewall for
intrusion to your system?

        Subject: Another FTP ??

Have looked at the online pubs and have kept most all related emails from
this list referencing FTP, but still have a few very basic questions.

Need : FTP files from our AS400 to a webpage outside our firewall. As this
is going outside our firewall, we need this to be secure.

Does the AS400 natively send FTP in a secure mode?
Is this the best answer or should I send the files to a local NT server
and
FTP to the internet from there using something like Renex's FTP server?

And guess what? I'm the one they put in charge of this!

TIA

Dale Draper
