IBM implements the MIB II interface so HPOpenView will be able to see
the AS/400 as soon as you turn on SNMP support. Use the CHGSNMPA command
to do this. Put in the IP address of the HPOpenView product, specify
"public" as the community, and translate to ASCII as *yes. The start the
SNMP service on the AS/400 with the STRTCPSVR command.

IBM provides some additional MIB databases for SNA communications, etc.
But I suspect you will find these of limited usefullness.

You can write your own sub-agent on the AS/400 and it can handle any
additional MIB functions you want. But you've got to write the code,
define the OIDs, create the MIB object database, etc. A bit daunting.
