Bill -- CFINT01 is the performance "enforcer" built into the system microcode. You CANNOT get rid of it. If CFINT01 is "sucking your system dry" it is because the interactive portion of your workload is exceeding the INTERACTIVE CPW rating for you box (not the overall box CPW but the interactive rating). When you exceed the Interactive CPW rating CFINTxx intentionally drags the WHOLE BOX down to the interactive CPW rating(!). Some things that will contribute to setting off CFINT (in a hurry): * Running compiles interactively * Running large queries interactively * Running CPU intensive batch work interactively. It is also possible that the interactive portion of your workload has simply exceeded the interactive CPW rating of the box you are on (check your model and processor feature(s) in the AS/400 handbook). Depending on the CPU model, you may be able to purchase an upgrade to the interactive CPW rating of your box (this may also lead to software tier price changes). Your business partner (or IBM) should be able to help you determine what the cause is and what reasonable remedies are.
