Check with Kronos.  We use them for payroll time entry (Timekeeper)  and I
believe they have some stuff that does this.  I know someone here is working on
something similar but the little weenie can't be found right now.  My impression
is that this is not necessarily AS/400 based but it does have hooks.  Their URL
is www.kronos.com.  The badge software is called ImageKeeper I believe.
