There are system values to handle idle sessions as far as messaging,
disconnecting or ending the session. You cannot put a screen saver on a
5250 terminal that I know of. We have several terminals that have built in
screen savers to where they blank the screen and/or shut themselves off. It
is easy to set the system values to a message queue and write a NEP to
receive the message, parse the data and take appropriate action based on the
user....

If you are looking for a way to secure inactive sessions, use the disconnect
option. The same user must sign on to resume the session. If someone else
signs on, the system will start a new session.

Hello all,

Are there any tools out there that allow you to monitor unattended screens
on
the 400? Something like "screen savers" on PCs.

If so, is the price based on users or on CPUs?

Any links would be appreciated.

Thank you.
