There are system values to handle idle sessions as far as messaging, disconnecting or ending the session. You cannot put a screen saver on a 5250 terminal that I know of. We have several terminals that have built in screen savers to where they blank the screen and/or shut themselves off. It is easy to set the system values to a message queue and write a NEP to receive the message, parse the data and take appropriate action based on the user.... If you are looking for a way to secure inactive sessions, use the disconnect option. The same user must sign on to resume the session. If someone else signs on, the system will start a new session. Something like "screen savers" on PCs. If so, is the price based on users or on CPUs? Any links would be appreciated. Thank you.
