Yes, I tried that too. Even the freebies. No go. There was a
technical seminar in Dallas a few month back, half day, no fee. I
asked up the chain and got no response back. VERY frustrating. It
wouldn't have cost them a dime......
We do have a LUG here in Waco, but I haven't had any real luck in
getting to the meetings (my fault), but it meets bi-monthly and I'm
not sure what technical presentations they've had, if any. I was
told that management isn't too crazy about the programmers getting
involved in the LUG because they lost staff to opportunities that
presented themselves at meetings. Go figure. <g>

Everyone talks about COMMON as if its the only venue for training related to
the AS/400. Have any of you attended the IBM technical conference? I've
been around the mid range offerings since the hey days of S/3 15D and for my
money the IBM conference is a much more rewarding experience then COMMON.
