Hello all, I am trying to get around writing a program - and (instead) utilize SQL's flexibility. Here's the scenario... I have a file (MNUMST) that contains fields: MENU, OPTION, PROGRAM. An example set of records would look like: MAIN 01 IMRQ101 MAIN 02 IMRQ102 MAIN 03 IMRQ103 ... Now, I would like to duplicate all records where MENU = 'MAIN' by using INSERT and create a new set, i.e.: RPT 01 IMRQ101 RPT 02 IMRQ102 RPT 03 IMRQ103 ... Note: I realize, that, by the time I get done asking this question, I could have written a program to accomplish this. However, the selection criteria, the source, and the target will not be static. Also, to further complicate the issue, I'd like to verify who's authorized to the menu options with a qualifying WHERE clause (if possible) - introducing a third file. Anyone help me on this? TIA!!!
