I am a 'babe-in-the-woods' when it comes to ODBC and I've given you the extent of my knowledge. Sorry. My question on Ops Nav was how to see all databases on the 400 when I open the list and not just ones in my default library list. dshaw@spartan.com on 03/30/2000 02:01:30 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: RE: ODBC access to system catalog files Comments in-line. > -----Original Message----- > From: Rob Berendt [mailto:rob@dekko.com] > > Start > Programs > IBM AS/400 Client Access > ODBC administration > Select your AS/400 > Click on Configure > Select the Performance Tab > What do you have in OS/400 library view? I've tried both "Default library list" and "All libraries on the system". The non-intuitive thing about "All libraries on the system" is that, although I get a list of all the libraries when I browse for tables to query, if I select a library that's not implicitly or explicitly in the "Default libraries" on the Server tab, I can't see anything in it. As a specific example, I can select QSYS, and even with a profile with *ALLOBJ authority, I can't see a single file in it. Note: I'm testing using MS Query. My co-worker is using MS Access. I'm running CA Express V4R4 with service pack SF60796 (current), he's running CA for Win95/NT V3R1M3 with a recent service pack. The /400 is V4R4 with cume C0049 installed, with HIPER and database group PTF's from about Feb 15th. > Now, how do I fix this for Op's Nav database? I don't understand your question. > dshaw@spartan.com on 03/29/2000 05:06:19 PM > Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet > To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet > cc: > Fax to: > Subject: ODBC access to system catalog files > > Hey, y'all! > > I have a colleague here who would like to be able to view the > contents of the > system catalog files in QSYS from MS Access.
