That sounds like a great program. Why not post it for all to see?

I'd bet Carl Galgano would host it www.ediconsulting.com

Robin,

I wasn't aware of the virtual terminal APIs that you mentioned so I
developed my own sockets API which does what you are talking about using
telnet. I would be happy to send you a copy if you are interested.

Albert

        Subject: Virtual Terminal APIs?

        Hi,

We've got a requirement to "front end" an existing interactive
program from
an ERP system. The program is big and ugly and getting it to run in
batch
        will be time consuming.

In the past we've got round this sort of thing using VB and EHLLAPI
to poke
keystrokes into the existing program, but the client wants an AS/400
only
        solution.

Would we be able to do this sort of thing with the virtual terminal
APIs?
If so, can anyone point me towards some example code. I effectively
just
want to feed keystrokes to an existing screen and do some basic
error
        checking, but in batch.

        Thanks
        Robin
