I'm not sure if you are using any Forms Software or not, if not, there is a
duplex parameter in OVRPRTF that tells the printers whether to duplex or not.

By "printer configuration", are you talking about on the printer itself or
are you talking on the AS/400 side? If you're talking the printer, it's not
turned off because we print PC documents to it in duplex mode. If you're
talking on the AS/400 side, I'm not sure where I would go to turn it on or
off.

Check your printer configuration to ensure the Duplex option is not turned
off.

Anyone have any additional ideas on what's going on with this problem (not
being able to print in duplex mode to a duplex capable printer)?

Thanks,
Dave

What are the differences in the two printer configurations on your as400?
Can the printer PRT03 print two sided from all the drawers? It reads like
the printer driver is returning the error message. I would start with the
printer manual to see if the printer does actually support what you are
trying to do. If so, Look at the AS400 configuration differences between
the one that is working and PRT03.

Subject: Duplex printing

We have a printer which is capable of duplexing. It is IPDS and attached
via TCP/IP. When I attempt to send a document to it to be printed in duplex
mode, I receive the following message. I have a similar printer (IPDS)
attached via twinax which does the duplexing fine - same spool file for
both. Anyone know where this message is originating from - the printer
hardware, printer software, or OS/400? Any ideas on how I can get this to
duplex?

Thanks,
Dave
