  Simple actually.  In your DNS add EACH of the addresses your AS/400 has behind
the same Name.  When the DNS hands them out it will do so in round robin 
fashion.
While this will not necessarily result in balanced load it should at least
balance the number of connections amoung the vaious adaptors.
