If the LAN card goes down, you have to shut the AS/400 down to replace.  With 2 cards you can reconfigure and be on your way.  I like 3 cards. 2 active sharing the communications load and 1 hot spare.

Subject: AS/400 Multiple Ethernet Controllers

Hi,

I'm curious to know the advantages of having more than 1 Lan Card in an AS/400 system.  What usage of this could be beneficial to a company, IS dept etc?
