1) Go lan with either token ring or ethernet. Best long term solution. PC ethernet cards may even be cheaper than pc twinax cards. 2) Snag onto a 5494 (or Perle compatible) and hook it on to a comm line. If you're not doing anything fancy with OV/400, Client Access, or pushbutton 5250 screens then a 5394, 5294 or even 5251mod12 might work. Some of these can be real cheap on the used market. Buy two and you'll have a backup and don't pay maintenance. We put a 5251mod 12 in one place and they loved it. A local terminal to run the printer built right into the control unit - how clever - two for one! Again, any terminal capable of blowing raspberries at users is something to behold. We rigged some short haul modems from Black Box with a piece of phone wire. mlazarus@ttec.com on 03/21/2000 01:35:00 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: Model 150 question I have a client w/ a model 150 (I think it's the Growth model.) They still are using twinax devices (upgrade from a /36.) They are on V4R1. They have all 14 addresses accounted for and would like to add a couple more. 1) What feature number is required to expand the address capability to 28? 2) Do they need to go to V4R4? 3) What do 1 & 2 cost?
