Don I am being serious. If you think xms and these other technologies are more significant than service bureaus, etc, then you are completely unaware of the changes that service bureaus and early small-business computing brought. You don't remember the bullpen with rows of clerks cranking the handles of their Monroe Calculators, or the manilla ledger cards, the boxes of carbon paper, and onion skin paper so the secretary could type an original and 6 copies? You don't remember the stir caused by the invention of Whiteout? Have you ever even seen an glue pistol to glue telex strip to telex pads? Heck, do you even know what telex is? _______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ "Schenck, Don" <Don.Schenck@WL.com> Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 03/16/2000 08:37 AM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: "'MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com'" <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: RE: History repeats itself If you are serious, then -- and I'm not being a smart alec -- you REALLY need to learn about Web technologies.
