IMHO

The word is out -- magazines in print are dead -- and magazine publishers
know it. They have to change. What with the interent (with great forums
like midrange-l around) who needs a print magazine. It wastes trees.

Folks like News400 have migrated to the web where they provide (until
David's email) excellent information for free. Imagine the loss of revenue
they are experiencing. How will their infrastructure survive (writers,
editors, publishers, marketing, sales, etc.). They can't provide info for
free forever. They have costs. They must remake themselves.

By signing up you are adding yourself to their vendable junk list. Who
will do this? Who loves junk email. There are too many free sites that do
not require any subscriptions or information on the web today. They are
definitely in a jam.

Hooray for the death of hype. RIP.

Jerry
