Note that there is a big difference between x=x+1 and x++.
In the first, x is evaluated twice, but only once in the
second.  No big deal if x is a simple scalar value, but
consider more complex expressions:

arr(proc(x))=arr(proc(x))+1
arr(proc(x))++

If the procedure call proc(x) returns different values
on subsequent calls, or it has some side effect, the
two statements clearly have different actions (besides
having different golf scores).
