This is only one answer of many I'm sure you'll see. Consider changing the program to write all the regular detail at overflow time, and only print the barcode at detail time? Can you tell the printer the report is 66 lines long, with overflow at line 20, or where ever? ______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ MrLennyB@aol.com Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 02/29/2000 04:22 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: midrange-l@midrange.com cc: RMorrissey@shopvac.com, TTripoli@shopvac.com Subject: Printing Bar Codes We are trying to print Bar Codes on reports using 4234 model 12 printers. We want to print the bar code on the top of the page. What we are experiencing is all the normal text for the entire page is printed, then the printer backs up the paper to the top of the page, and prints the bar code. This is a very slow process and it also causes the paper to jam quite often. Is anyone else using these printers to print bar code? It is possible to print the bar code at the bottom of the page, but the application is better suited for printing them at the top. We were wondering if this is the way bar codes are processed on these printers or do we have something setup incorrectly that is causing the page to be printed in this manner? Does anyone know opf any other printers that would be more suitable for printing bar codes? We need a printer that can use multi part paper. The forms we print are 3 and 4 part.
