Today we have about 40 "green screen" terminals. 35 of them will be converted to PC's and/or Network Stations (thin client). Due to its size, the AS/400 (model 170) will be connected to a Netfinity server. The netfinity server will be connected to the world (ie internet) to serve e-mail and allow web browsing to about 10 people. Office 2000 will be installed on the PC's and Network Stations. As a summary, we think we will have 10 PC's and 30 Network Stations. Any restrictions or recommendations on Network Stations? At the end, there will be no technical staff to support the network, the setup has to be easy to maintain, and we don't want to take half-day to full-day to replace a PC. With a Network Station it should take only few minutes. -- Leo Lefebvre President Toronto Users Group for Midrange Systems Visit our home page at <http://www.tug.on.ca> Ph: (416) 606-5960 --- Fx: (416) 495-0100 mailto:leo@tug.on.ca +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
