David -- I've seen symptoms like this when the PC application times out (or something else causes the frames not to make it back to the AS/400). In one case the PC's IP stack had a bug and closed the "window" down on the PCs 5250 emulation application. I've also seen this if the TCP/IP group PTF is not on the AS/400. You indicated all was well until recently, and it sounds like a CUME was installed. You may need to see if there are TCP/IP related fixes either in the "HIPER" list on the PSP for your release or know by the support folks. George Lemen Sr. Project Analyst, CIBER Inc.
