Well we are considering are options. We currently have 7 rs/6000's on a switch
that are being backed up by adsm only. and we want to implement the as/400 to
use the tape library.

There are two options for us run over ethernet at a slow 10G per hour with
adsm. or just skip ADSM on the 400 and let BRMS control the library at 40 to
60 G per hour over SCSI.

there are advantages to both, but our main problem is every thing else is on
adsm and we would like to stay the same over all platforms, but the speed sucks
with adsm. and if we go with brms we must get around confilcts of shareing the
lib with adsm.

If you are just going to be backing up the as/400's Why use ADSM? just go
straight BRMS.

let me know what you do, and think.

Is anyone using the 3494-L12 tape library with BRMS/ADSM in an SAP
environment? My client would like to speak with someone who has done it
before they buy. The AS/400 farm contains 2 740s, and 5 SB1s.
