>And I can't remember the name of the movie in which I saw a S/36, >after they were obsoleted. They had stuffed a bunch of electronics >into the diskette magazine readers. Again, to signify a big >computer monolith. That was Walker: Texas Ranger. They had a graphics screen on top of it and a remote unit that a kid with a huge IQ could talk to. And just like HAL the S/36 began to slow down when they started removing the brains (Diskette magazines in the 72MD autoloader). Walker of course got there just in time to replace the magazines and 'save' the machine. They had also removed the control panel cover so you could see 'das blinkin lights'. - Larry -- Larry Bolhuis | What if it's True?
