I realize this isn't a valuable reply, but I just have to commisurate. RANT(*ON) Doesn't that suck!!! This is one of the reasons why the PC has taken over the server market. It's the IKEA mentality in computing. Why buy really good quality stuff when the fashion will change in three years? RANT(*OFF) Okay, maybe I'm biased. I am looking for cherry and plantation mohagany and a server that doesn't "GPF" when I close two windows at the same time. And I wonder why my FSIOP/IPCS/INS (isn't that an immigration service) is 200Mhz. So I added 256MB to my 170 (a pair of 128's) to the tune of $2500.00. Boy, they sure _look_ like 168 pin Dimms, but I didn't put them side by side with, say, some PC100 DIMMS. CISC memory... at least that LOOKED different... I assume that there really is some reason that these things cost ten times the PC memory? Any thoughts? Even 'third party' memory is way up there in price. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
