We use a sockets connection for real time transfer of data between various
host and our AS400. The socket server runs on the AS400 and can parse the
incoming string to a data base. If you are not familiar with writing socket
server, there has been many examples posted here. Go to
http://www.cableone.net/ckb62 for some examples I have posted that this list
has contributed to.

Subject: Text file from web server to database on the AS/400

Hello!

I'm looking for recommendations on good ways to transfer data from a text
file on my web server (Linux) into a database on the AS/400. I know how to
accomplish this with FTP but I would like to hear how others are
accomplishing this task. The text file is generated by a CGI script on the
web server. I would like for this to be updated live but that isn't a
requirement. Any ideas?
