32,000?!?! man, that is a bummer to deal with, 35 characters at a time. A user will be paging through panels forever to proofread the thing. At those lengths consider another solution altogether, like Visual Age RPG which has a multiedit part that essentially gives you cut & paste, insert, copy, wordwrap, and scrollbars. Trying to resolve the problems of a 32,000 character field on a green screen seems quixotic at the least and masochistic at the worst. -----Original Message----- From: Klein Ron [mailto:ron.klein@brctsg.com] Sent: Monday, February 07, 2000 11:46 AM To: boothm@goddard.edu Subject: RE :RE: Text editiing Martin, The CNTFLD keyword does do the job because it will allow half the word to remain on the first line and not move it at the blank break. BLKFLD would probably work but it is not input capable, WRDWRAP functions the way we want, but it will not allow for the sizing of the repeating field length on each line. It jsut comes out as one big long field running until the end of the screen and then it continues until the end of the next screen line. And yes we do hav a max length (32,000) +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
