× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I would definitely go with this option.  Having the operating system in the
slow ASP would not be a good thing.  Backup/recovery will be somewhat easier
as well if only test/development stuff is in the user ASP.
