I have received numerous inquiries after MaryLou's posting, and it has
become necessary for me to respond to the list and clarify some
issues.

Marylou was caught by surprise by an IBM PTF that was contained in CUM
package c131430. After loading PowerLock (or any other exit point
program that monitors the *CNTLSRV server), Client Access connections
failed with message CWBLM0006. IBM has recognized this as a problem
with thier server code and issued a fix for this problem - PTF
SF57906.

This PTF is installed on and resides entirely on the AS/400 and does
not require any change to PC's (just as PowerLock does not require
that any code to reside on the PC). I have apologized to MaryLou if
someone at Powertech gave her a different impression.

I have spoken with MaryLou this morning and both explained the
situation and apologized for any part PowerTech may have played in
this confusion. MaryLou has asked us, and we have agreed, to send her
a fresh copy of the PowerLock demo for evaluation.
