Hi All,
I have a server running Windows NT that is linked via TCP/IP to an AS/400.
The server is running an application system that uses SQL and VB. Data is
constantly transferred between the Server and the AS/400 via Client Access
(to transfer data from the AS/400 to the server), and a scripting tool called
Reflection (to transfer data from the server to the AS/400 via AS/400 data
entry screens).

I would like to get suggestions on the following :
a) Methods that can be used for the NT server to check that the AS/400 is
up/available before initiating the transfer of data.
b) Methods of getting data files from the AS/400 to the server
c) A method of checking a User ID & Password keyed into a sign-on screen on
the server against the password for the same User ID on the AS/400 (to allow
password control to be centralised on the AS/400)
