I have never moved an AS400 data center but I have purchased new AS400 and shipped the old equipment to our D/R site. We packed the old equipment into the new equipment's boxes and shipped it. We sent along one set of complete system backup tapes. After the equipment arrived, we flew out carrying the second set of complete system backups. Of course this was a small model 200. Later we replaced the 200 with a new 170 which was shipped to our headquarters where we installed all the application etch. We then labeled everything, packed back into the original shipping containers and shipped to our remote site. Again we sent one set of tapes with the box and carried the second set with us. Since we are a 24x7x365.25 operation I would not move our data center, instead I would purchase new equipment for the new location and just move the data. Christopher K.
