Hello Bruce,

Thanks for the response.  I have started the APAR process.  I sent a much more 
detailed query 
to our local IBM PSR.  I surmised that the VT terminals were enqueueing 
directly and wrote a 
little program to test that theory.  I wasn't sure whether the ENQ handled it 
or the API but 
since QRCVDTAQ did move the message offset for SENDERID(*YES) I guessed it was 
the API.

The more I think about it, though, I think that's not very OO.  ENQ should do 
it based on the 
queue attribute rather than every user of ENQ having to check the attribute 
first and build an 
appropriate message.  DEQ of course would need to do the reverse.  Hmmm, I 
don't see that 
happening any time soon.

However, having dumped a queue I can see that the SENDERID attribute is not 
part of the queue 
attributes but is actually tacked on in the primary associated space.  So the 
basic queue 
object is being extended but the methods aren't being overridden -- oops 
(tongue firmly in 
cheek).
