Yes,  RCVJRNE  is one way.   RTVJRNE and DSPJRN  are others.   It doesn't
matter if you are pulling 1 or multiple entries at a time.  Each time they
are executed a temporary  address is consumed.   If you execute RCVJRNE  for
each journal entry sequence number between 1 and 1,000 you consume 1,000
temporary addresses.  If you execute RCVJRNE for the range of sequence
numbers 1 through 1,000 you consume 1 temporary address.

The following code snippet will consume 1000 temporary addresses.

CHGVAR VAR(X) VALUE(1)
NEXT:
RCVJRNE JRN(ABC) FROMENT(X) TOENT(X)
CHGVAR VAR(X) VALUE(X + 1)
IF (X *LT 1000)  Then(GOTO NEXT)

This code snippet consumes 1 temporary address.

RCVJRNE JRN(ABC) FROMENT(1) TOENT(1000)
