That's a great suggestion...but... the WRKACTJOB command is off limits security wise as well to us of low life programmer status :-)
Any other suggestions?  Can I do it with WRKSBSD QSYS/QCTL?? or some other

You can get a very good approximation (within a few minutes after the IPL)
by looking at the start date/time of the controlling subsystem from WRKACTJOB.
