  • Subject: QUOTE RCMD problem on V4R3?

Folks:

I've got a situation where a program is executing a FTP script (using the
OVRDBF method) and is issuing a "QUOTE RCMD CRTLIB" command to the FTP
server.

The FTP server, however, is responding with an error 500 stating that it
does not understand the RCMD command. Specifically ... '500 Syntax error,
command unrecognized: ''RCMD CRTLIB SDMIR'''

Originally I thought the program (running on a customers system) was
targeting a non-400 system by specifying the wrong IP address ... because
that's the normal response for a RCMD request on a Linux system ... but,
after reviewing the ftp log (which we captured), it's quite obvious that the
remote system is an AS/400.

Any ideas on what would cause the QUOTE RCMD function to not be recognized?

Thanks!

david
