Could this be due to the fact that most FAA traffic control centers got new
computer systems within the last year? Before that, a lot of them still had
computers that required vacuum tubes to operate (your tax dollars hard at
work). These new systems probably still have a few bugs in them that will be
found and fixed over the next year or so.

Thats  strange the  an FAA Air Trafffic Control Bug occurred in the 
North east  NYC  area  earlier this week.  It caused several hours of 
outage and grounded aircraft. It too  remains unexplainable
