Do a manual IPL from the control panel. Boot into DST. There you are given the opportunity to change the Security Officer's Password. The password for DST, unless it has been changed, is all 2's. Which is why you don't have a secure AS/400 unless your box is also secure. I was told by IBM not to change this password, if I did and left, no one would ever be able to get back into it if the security officer password was forgotten. Let me get this straight, there is an AS/400 sitting around that has not been used since 1994, and your company is concerned that it won't work after 2000? Umm... Are they also concerned that those old 80286's you have in storage won't work either?
