I came into the thread mid-stream, I just went back to look at the
message you replied to, and I see now that the password is to be
*changed* via browser - I was thinking the password was to be sync-ed to
mutiple AS/400s

The AS/400 (and any API on the AS/400) *never* decrypt the password -
ever.

But you're right that the PC would need to know how to encrypt it (not
impossible), which makes my solution, in this case, useless.
