More Y2K PTFs?

According to a blurb on Midrange Computing web site, IBM is planning on
releasing new cum tapes for _all_ supported releases of OS/400 on Dec
28.  It specifically says the releases, including V3R2 which hasn't had
a cum since May 1998.

Does anyone know if this is true?  Does this make sense?  Or am I
completely misunderstanding the blurb?  As the article says, it seems an
awfully late date.
