  • Subject: MCH3601 error in backup routine
  • From: "Allen, Stuart" <sallen@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi all,
As part of our backup routine, we run the following:
SAVLIB LIB(*ALLUSR) DEV(TAP03) EXPDATE(&DATE) +
             ENDOPT(*LEAVE) SAVACT(*SYSDFN) +
             ACCPTH(*YES) DTACPR(*DEV) OMITLIB(TST* XXX*)
About 40 minutes in, we get a MCH3601 diagnostic message - Pointer not set
for location referenced.

I've never seen this before - is it something to worry about?

We're backing up to a Magstar 3570C01, and the system is still up during the
backup, but there's usually only 1-2 users signed on.
Previously we were backing up to a 8mm drive so were specifying the
libraries rather than doing an *allusr.

TIA and Merry Christmas!

Regards,
Stuart
