There are a several "version 3" client accesses  - V3R2M0, V3R1M3, V3R1M2
and the much older V3R1M1 & M0.
Check http://www.as400.ibm.com/clientaccess/casp.htm for the ptf numbers to
order for the current fix package.

Sound like you're trying to install a fix package from a different version -
to tell which version you have, go to the Client Access Properties in
Control Panel.
That'll tell you what version (V), release (R), and modification (M) you're
on, plus the current service pack level.
