Hi there!

SAP is a very extensive user (and consumer ;-) of AS/400 ressources,
using many thousands of database tables and lots of APIs off the UNIX
corner. 

And there are studies that implementing R/3 on an AS/400
is faster than on any other platform.

A system admin's life is a sorry one.  The only advantage he has
over Emergency Room doctors is that malpractice suits are rare.
On the other hand, ER doctors never have to deal with patients
installing new versions of their own innards!
